Dr. Christian Helge Peters

Project member

Profil

Christian Helge Peters completed his master's degree at the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena in social theory. He is a research assistant at the Institute of Sociology, Chair of Economic and Organisational Sociology, at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg in the project "Good Work and Social Cohesion" and coordinator for the Halle sub-institute. He is doing his doctorate in sociological theory at the University of Hamburg. In his doctorate, he develops a social theory of affect modulation following Gilles Deleuze and Brian Massumi. He is currently working mainly on the relationship between work and social context, focusing on affect, emotion, resonance, and self-efficacy.

That is why I am interested in social cohesion

What interests me about social cohesion is, on the one hand, what social cohesion is and, on the other hand, what conditions it is subject to. I work on the influence of economic and cultural factors plus feelings and self-efficacy on social cohesion. In particular, work and employment relationships in a comprehensive understanding, including care work and voluntary work, still have a special status in society and shape social cohesion and what role people play in it.
